THE FLIGHT SIMULATOR FOR SURGEONS

Our mission at FundamentalVR is to give you access to the best simulations on a day-to-day basis.

We believe that every surgeon should have the opportunity to rehearse, practice and test themselves within a safe, controllable space that is as close to real life as possible and is within an arm’s reach of their workplace.

Fundamental Surgery is a multimodal software platform that takes advantage of readily available virtual reality hardware – tethered and standalone.

The ‘HapticVR’ modality combines cutting edge haptics (the sense of touch) with immersive VR to create a simulation system that can be used on a modern PC set up, even a laptop. The ‘@HomeVR’ modality uses standalone headsets that are readily available, to allow training to happen anywhere. Both with one single user view.

The result is a simulation system that requires a low-cost hardware investment and a simple ongoing licence fee.

The system’s simulations are focused on the Orthopedic specialism but will quickly move into areas including Laparoscopic, General Surgery, Cardiovascular and Otolaryngology (ENT).

Users each have their own unique log in and throughout each of the simulations their performance is assessed and measured with the system providing realtime feedback on instrument use, procedural accuracy and patient impact.
