The Fundamental Surgery platform provides two modalities of learning; the ‘HapticVR™‘ PC platform and also the ‘@HomeVR‘ variant delivered using an untethered headset.

The HapticVR™ system hardware consists of 3 elements:

  • A laptop or desktop PC with a minimum of an i7 processor, Nvidia RTX2070 graphics card, 16GB RAM and a 500GB hard drive.
  • Two Geomagic Touch haptic arms.
  • A suitable VR headset (Oculus Rift /. Rift S, HTC Vive/Pro/Eye tracking, Microsoft VR devices (Dell Visor, Lenovo Explorer, HP Reverb etc).

Some clients prefer to use a height adjustable desk to create a comfortable operating height for surgeons using the haptic arms. Others prefer to use and adjustable monitor stand or laptop riser to raise up the haptic arms.

Whatever works for you!

The @HomeVR product runs on the following untethered headsets:

  • Oculus Quest (64Gb or 128Gb versions).
  • HTC Vive Focus Plus

@HomeVR is a companion product to HapticVR™ – the software comes free as part of the HapticVR software purchase, subject to a fair usage policy.
